About me

Currently, I am working in Comunidad y Biodiversidad A.C. (COBI). I am a biologist from Universidad Autónoma de Baja California and since the beginning of my studies, I have been interested in marine conservation. Throughout my career, I actively participated in a research group called MEXCAL. There, I certified as a diver and began monitoring kelp forests in Baja. Then, I developed a particular interest in Social-Ecological Systems, such as small-scale fisheries. I did an internship in COBI and I had the opportunity to monitor other ecosystems in Mexico, I met small scale fishing communities that actively participate in the management of their resources, and I attended to intersectoral workshops for decision-making in terms of management and conservation. In the near future, I would like to participate in information generating processes and implement actions to achieve sustainable fisheries and resilient coastal social ecological systems in Mexico.
