Camera traps deployment
The local team deployed nearly 20 camera traps strategically in the mangrove and lowland rainforest habitats where jaguars have been detected, effectively capturing the region's biodiversity and collecting data for analysis.

Field research, together with local community involvement and the results of the co-design, showed that the best sites to deploy the cameras are in low-disturbance mangrove, jungle and savannah areas, as well as areas where cattle ranching used to take place.
Lessons learned
Site-characterization and mapping co-design with the local community provided a strategic baseline for the real devices deployment.
