The implementation of new targets for nature will require scaling and replication of existing, proven solutions. Over the last 2 years, the PANORAMA partnership has engaged strongly in the negotiations on the emerging post-2020 global biodiversity framework, positioning PANORAMA as an established initiative that will support knowledge exchange and capacity building between biodiversity actors, as countries set out to implement the framework. As the world gathers in Montreal, Canada for the 15th UN Biodiversity Conference (CBD COP15) to finalize this “new deal for nature”, PANORAMA partners will continue to engage in the process.
We will have a strong presence at COP15, involving solution providers, launching new publications and much more:
Biodiversity Solutions Hour December 9th (Friday), 17:30 - Nature Positive PavilionThis lively event will introduce examples of nature-based solution case studies, through brief “TED-talk”-like presentations of the solutions or scripted live performance (i.e. theater), based on storytelling elements, which may include costumes, props, audio and visual elements, featuring Annie Tourette (UK) from Blue Ventures and Ruben Khachatryan (Armenia) from the Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets. The event will also present and discuss restoration and sustainable management of nature positive solutions.
PANORAMA - Solutions for Successful Implementation December 10th (Saturday), 11:00 - Montreal Convention Centre
Room 512E
Participants will discover how PANORAMA is contributing towards the capacity development and knowledge management components, and you will discover how to leverage PANORAMA in your own efforts towards the implementation of the COP15 decisions. The CBD Secretariat and Parties, including the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, China, India, Mexico (tbc) and Vietnam (tbc) will illustrate the PANORAMA approach using case studies from solution providers around the world.

Evening reception, new collaboration agreement with CBD and factsheets
We will be hosting an invite only recpetion for key partners and collaborators. The event will give invitees a chance to mingle with the people of PANORAMA.
Another exciting development is the establishment of a Memorandum of Understanding between the PANORAMA secretariat (hosted by GIZ and IUCN) and the CBD secretariat, to agree on future collaboration.
For CBD COP 15, we have developed factsheets to distribute and share that highlight the PANORAMA Communities and their solutions. These are available for download on our website, see them all below!
