Jean François Lafleur is the Site Manager of Le Morne Cultural Landscape World Heritage Property. He holds a BA (Hons) with First Class First Division in Heritage Studies and MA in Heritage Management with Distinction from the University of Mauritius. He is also holder of a Certificate in Protected Area Management by the Durrell Conservation Academy and has followed various courses on heritage management and conservation. Mr. Lafleur has participated in various archaeological and oral history research projects and has gained extensive experience in the field of cultural and natural heritage management, especially with respect to tangible and intangible heritage, community development and partnership, research, biodiversity conservation, project planning, tourism management, risk management, sustainable development, protected area management and site interpretation. Mr. Lafleur is also an elected member of the Interim Committee of the African Site Managers Network and as President of Caritas Chamarel, he is involved in social works.
