Ssali Roanld Ogwal is a detail-oriented and analytical One Health Specialist with more than 5 years of experience where he has maintained an exceedingly functional environment while performing Public Health Promotion, Field & research related tasks working with both government and non-governmental institutions in the Central region of Uganda, Northern, and Karamoja region.
Through inspiration from Conservation Through Public Health- CTPH’s founder and CEO, Dr. Gladys Kalema-Zikusoka, one of the leading conservationists and scientists working to save the endangered mountain gorillas and wildlife of East Africa. Ssali picked interest to work in a Health and Biodiversity Conservation setting, thus got the opportunity to join CTPH in 2021
This opportunity has helped him to work with communities across protected areas of Uganda fully and appreciate the complete domains of the One Health approach; ‘Humans/Wildlife/Ecosystem Interface’ changing the perception of the communities who thought Public Health was only concerned with Humans.
He has also been able to serve on different consultancy and volunteer platforms such as;
Technical Committee Member with the Supply Chain Health Consortium- Seattle, Washington (https://healthforall.earth) which aims to Take action to reduce inequity in health, improve quality of life, and save lives, through examining global health inequity from a supply chain perspective
Volunteer Panelist with the EnT Foundation (Africaniwa)- UK (https://esenetekyerema.org/) aims to use diverse forms of creativity to promote social cohesion across communities, creating a more inclusive and integrated society here and beyond.
