Eigenraam
Mark has worked in environmental markets and natural capital accounting for over 20 years across academic and government institutions at all levels. Mark produced Australia’s first set of experimental ecosystem accounts. He also worked at the United Nations in New York on the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting (SEEA) – the international standard.
Mark continues to advise governments and organisations around the world in the design and application of natural capital accounting, the development of environmental markets and the creation of natural capital performance standards. He develops processes and systems that highlight nature-based risks and opportunities.
A turning point in Mark’s career was working for the United Nations in New York, supporting member countries in the implementation of the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting (SEEA). The result of that experience lead to him creating IDEEA Group with Carl Obst to help organisations around the world use and apply the SEEA in practical ways.
