Sustainability Specialist

Based out of Namibia with a deep passion for sustainable and rural development through holistic and integrated landscape management (ILM) perspectives. My work focuses on the intersection of sustainability, nature, and equity, with a particular emphasis on conservation & food-system transitions.

Currently I serve as a Sustainability Specialist for the N/a’an ku sê Foundation, where I am tasked with developing and seeing through programs that operate at the fascinating intersection of Nature Conservation & Rural Development. I truly believe that nature is an opportunity for rural communities across many different landscapes to improve and enrich their wellbeing, and aim to help people and communities participate, and most importantly, benefit, from these opportunities

I hold experience in Holistic Rural Development and Development Finance, particularly in the Sub-Saharan African context. This includes ongoing strategic advisory for the Commonland foundation on African Landscape Finance and practical work in inclusive innovation within agri-food value chains. Additionally, having a background in sustainability strategy consulting, particularly within the nature and biodiversity domain, I have been fortunate to build a wide variety of experiences across numerous industries/contexts. This has enriched my understanding of sustainability decision-making within large private sector firms.

My academic background includes a bachelor’s degree in Global Sustainability Science from Utrecht University and a master’s degree in Global Business and Sustainability from the Rotterdam School of Management. Additionally, I hold a professional certificate in Sustainable & Inclusive Landscapes from the Global Landscapes Forum and Wageningen University.
