M S Swaminathan Research Foundation is a non-for profit organization established in 1989. It is recognized by the Government of India as a scientific institution. The vision of the Foundation is to link science and society for sustainable and equitable development and mission to develop and demonstrate models of sustainabale develop for large scale mode as well as to influence policy with  pro-nature, pro-poor and pro-woman perspectives. The foundation is working on coastal systems, biodiversity, biotechnology, ecotechnology, food security and information, eductaion and communication.
