Activist, Biologist and Master in Science in Social-ecological Resilience for Sustainable Development at the Stockholm Resilience Centre, where I am currently a Research Assistant in the RECONNECT project (Biodiversa+ https://www.biodiversa.eu/2023/04/19/reconnect/). As part of my responsibilities, I coordinate research activities on ecosystem-based governance and the development of adaptive conservation strategies aligned with global biodiversity and climate change frameworks. As part of these strategies, I collaborate in communication outreach and dissemination of policy briefs with international political scope and which, for example, have contributed to the formulation of NBSAPs under the Convention on Biological Diversity and included collaboration with organizations such as the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
My interests focus on socio-ecological resilience to climate change scenarios, nature-positive futures, and adaptive governance, mainly in multifunctional/urban landscapes. For instance, my undergraduate thesis examined the usability of parks in the periphery of Mexico City, with an emphasis on justice and accessibility, while my master's thesis applied a participatory approach to imagine desirable urban public spaces and assess their impact on the sustainability motivations of Mexico City inhabitants. I also hold certifications in Ecosystem-based Climate Change Adaptation, Landscape Governance, and Green Infrastructure.
Currently, I am the director of the Stockholm chapter of the FEM.DES network, where I promote cross-cutting projects that advance feminist and equitable perspectives in urban planning and design.
I have had the opportunity to assist in teaching courses on Socioecological Systems (Stockholm University) and Urban Ecological Design for Climate Change Resilience (UNAM), as well as to participate in various ecological restoration and social development projects nationally and internationally, which has allowed me to influence knowledge, management and sustainable use of natural resources. I am passionate about outdoor activities, such as camping and cycling.
