I am a natural resource project manager working in Malawi to support the Government to address charcoal-led deforestation and land degradation. Through our work we have suported the Government of Malawi to develop the National FLR Strategy and the National Charcoal Strategy, to ammend the Forestry Act and develop Charcoal Regulations and Sentencing Guidelines for Forestry Crimes. We also support government and other partners to pilot and scale approaches to FLR.
