Rwanda Environment Awareness Organization (REAO) is local non-government organization legally operating in Rwanda since 2013 with the legal personality No. 401/RGB/NGO/LP/11/2018. The organization was created to contribute towards environmental protection efforts, strengthening living conditions for women and youth, enhance gender equality through active engagement of sexes as well as research and advocacy. The organization’s primary beneficiaries are youth, women and most vulnerable communities such as historically marginalized people.
VISION: A society that upholds environment protection values, with a better living condition for all.
MISSION: To build the capacity of the communities to protect the environment and promote climate-resilient as well as environmental sensitive economy
Organization has the following objectives:
Promote and protect environment through capacity building trainings and public dialogue and campaigns on importance of environment.
Provide environmental protection capacity building trainings in primary, secondary and tertiary schools.
Fight against poverty among youth and women through promotion of employable activities and dissemination of information about the existing opportunities meant to alleviate poverty in Rwanda.
Advocate on programs meant to promote and protect environment, fight against poverty among women and youth and enhance gender equality principles.
