My name Pungky Nanda Pratama, I got a degree in Aquaculture at the University of Diponegoro, Semarang, Indonesia. It is been 4 years I try to stick out with Conservation Works in Indonesia, and since early 2018, I focus on environmental education programme called " The Jungle Library Project " were establish together with my colleague Joshua James Parfitt. Jungle library project promote environtmental education to the children living in highly deforestation area with human-wildlife conflict. With this project we try our best to raise awereness through our story and photography in South Sumatra.
Other project that I am leading now called “Flora Conservation Act”. Due to conversion of forest for agriculture and unsustainable practices of agriculture which dragged so many species of flora and fauna to the brink of the extinction. We know that flora aren’t like animals who can run quickly to stay away from fire, if villagers just cutting down and burning the land for new plantations then a lot of flora will gone just like dust. With funding from the Biodiversity and Nature Conservation Agency of South Sumatra. I started pilot flora rescue project to gather up at-risk flora and transport them to my nursery. I will propagete lot of flora that were rescued before and we plans to return the plants back to the wild and hopes they will bolster population and prevent local extinction.
beside conservation work on above, I also get involve with Camera Trap Project, called " The Sumatra Camera Trap Project" estabish with my collegue Anthony Hearn to capturing elusive wildlife in unresearched areas of the Sumatra rainforest
