Executive Director - Protected Landscape of Sousa Superior

Ricardo Nogueira Martins (1990, Luzern, Switzerland) is the Executive Director of the Local Protected Landscape of Sousa Superior, Lousada, Portugal.

He holds a BSc in Geography and Planning, an MSc in Geography - Planning and Territory Management, and a PgDip in EU Policies and Territorial Cooperation from the University of Minho. During his academic career, he studied at the University of the Balearic Islands, Spain, and worked as a research fellow.

He worked as an environmental consultant within Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Monitoring projects. As a geography researcher at the Landscape Laboratory, he carried out projects about landscape studies, environmental studies, natural values, and protected areas, territorial planning policies, rural development as well the coordination of environmental education projects.

Member of the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA); Portugal Thought For Food Foundation Ambassador.

Researcher collaborator at CECS - Communication and Society Research Centre, a leading research unit of the University of Minho, acting under the Communication, Territories, Organizations and Social Dynamics research Group (Territory and Environment research line).

He strongly trusts in Environmental Diplomacy and Territorial Cooperation.
