Geographer and lover of nature and people.

I have dedicated my working career to the protection of places, animals, plants and people.  National parks and natural or mixed world heritage sites have been in the focus of my work.

I have mostly worked in arid areas, e.g. in the Chadian Sahara to help to establish two UNESCO world heritage sites. But other environments such as the central African forest are also in the field of my expertise, e.g. the management of the Kahuzi Biega NP in east Congo.
