Aldea Global Project pioneer in the Co-management of Protected Areas in Honduras, demonstrating its commitment for the sixth time through the signing of a co-management agreement for the Azul Meámbar National Park PANACAM, signed with the National Institute of Conservation and Forestry Development Protected Areas and Wildlife ICF, the municipalities of Meámbar, Siguatepeque, San José de Comayagua and Taulabé in the department of Comayagua, Santa Cruz de Yojoa in the department of Cortés.

The municipalities are the territorial authorities that are responsible for protecting the environment and have the capacity to sign agreements with decentralized entities.

PAG, for its part, is a non-profit organization that meets the basic requirements recognized as necessary by the ICF to carry out Comanagement actions in protected areas, particularly in PANACAM, so to date PAG has been a Comanager with 30 years of experience managing PANACAM.
