Full Professor at the Biology Department of the University of the Azores
Helena Calado holds a Degree in Geography and Regional Planning and a PhD in Land Use Planning and Management. She is currently president of the Faculty of Science and Technology of University of Azores, a Full Professor at the Biology Department of the same university and researcher at the MARE - Marine and Environmental Sciences Centre. With over 15 years of experiences in land use planning and environmental impact assessments, she is currently focusing her research on coastal zone management plans, coastal hazards and mitigation measures, climate change impacts and implications, marine protected areas, and maritime spatial planning for small islands, particularly for the Azores.
