Enabling factors

The Ministry of Sustainable Development from Yucatan has been engaging and working with the local communities living in and around the Reserve for several years, ensuring cross-pollination of knowledge, good governance and justice.

Likewise, the C Minds' AI for Climate initiative has been working for the past 3 years  with key local stakeholders from the academic, innovation and social sectors, as well as with the communities living and working in the area.

Lessons learned

The participation of the local community in the entire life cycle of the project, from design, deployment, data collection and analysis, has been a major and very important factor for the success of the work of deployment and collection of valuable information on biodiversity in the reserve.
