This year has been an exciting one for PANORAMA – Solutions for a Healthy Planet, with new tools, reports, and features launched to strengthen global conservation and sustainable development efforts. At its core, PANORAMA is about more than just documenting solutions; it’s about connecting people, sharing knowledge, and turning proven practices into scalable impact.

Long-term connections create lasting impact

One of the highlights of this year has been reconnecting with long-standing members of the PANORAMA community. The IUCN World Conservation Congress in Abu Dhabi provided the perfect setting to hear firsthand how PANORAMA has helped amplify real-world solutions. Ann Dumaliang, winner of the PANORAMA Pathfinder Award in 2018, shared that receiving the award was a pivotal moment. It not only brought global recognition to their work at Masungi Georeserve in the Philippines but also sparked a series of subsequent accolades, demonstrating how lasting connections and recognition can elevate local conservation initiatives.

Local voices and equity are central to global progress

PANORAMA continues to ensure that community-led stories reach global policy tables. Many Congress attendees highlighted how the platform has helped their local work gain international visibility. New features, including a multilingual web platform and a mobile app, further strengthen inclusion by making Solutions accessible to a wider, more diverse audience. Conservation practitioners from remote or multilingual contexts can now access and share knowledge without barriers, ensuring that local voices remain central to global impact.

Knowledge management is as important as innovation itself

What sets PANORAMA apart is its ability to turn technical solutions into relatable stories. Through structured storytelling, the platform captures lessons, reflections, and best practices in a way that is easy to understand, adapt, and replicate. As Verena Klinger-Dering from the German Ministry for the Environment noted, “What makes PANORAMA particularly powerful is its ability to transform undocumented knowledge into structured, accessible case studies.” By capturing what works—and why—it becomes possible to scale successful approaches across regions and sectors.

Three exciting launches in 2025

PANORAMA Mobile App – Available on Android and iOS, the new app allows users to explore, save, and share Solutions even offline. Ideal for practitioners working in remote areas, it brings knowledge and collaboration directly into the field.

Multilingual Feature – The web platform is now available in 14 languages, including Arabic, Turkish, Chinese, and Russian, making Solutions accessible in users’ preferred languages.

Storytelling Report – PANORAMA’s first-ever report showcases the power of real-life case studies and personal stories, capturing the global impact of community-driven conservation initiatives.
