With this experience, the Water Boards have been strengthened by integrating themselves into the protection of the micro-watersheds.The objective of this association is to improve the living conditions of the inhabitants of the communities in the area of influence of the West PANACAM, through the implementation of programs and projects for the protection and conservation of water sources in their communities, as well as training staff in the management of sanitation techniques and the expansion of water supply service for human consumption in rural areas of the municipality,joining the PANACM's Global Village Project, carrying out actions ranging from recognition of their territories to the process of declarations granted by the Institute of Forest Conservation of Honduras (ICF).

The Association consists of 20 water boards, which have managed to cover 5 micro-watersheds for an area of 5,000 hectares.
