Environmental education as a conservation tool, Lempira, Honduras

Snapshot Solution
Education
MAPANCE

This program is the crosscutting axis that links technical knowledge about the reality of the PNMC, stimulating the involvement of the inhabitants in the management of natural resources. Its implementation must be coordinated with the Ministry of Education, civil society and community leaders.

The activities involve radio, television, and print media, which will be socialized in 100% of the communities. Teachers in rural areas will play an important role in replicating and facilitating knowledge to the new generations.

HOW IT IS DONE

  • First, enthusiastic young people will be trained in the education modules related to conservation, such as recycling, flora and fauna, climate change, and water conservation;
  • Intensive education days are held to educate young people
  • qualitative evaluations are also made to see the before and after of the workshops.
