I am a Research Fellow at the African Wildlife Foundation, collaborating with the Oppenheimer Programme in African Landscape Systems at the University of Exeter, specialising in socio-ecological resilience and data-driven governance in African drylands. My expertise lies at the intersection of Actuarial Science and Conservation Science, providing a unique capability to model risk and instability in natural systems. My core technical work involves developing and applying the Relative Productivity Index (RPI), a machine learning tool that provides scientifically rigorous metrics for assessing ecosystem health and management effectiveness in East African rangelands. I am a contributor to the IUCN Commission on Ecosystem Management (CEM), specifically the Drylands Ecosystem Specialist Group and the Ecosystem Governance Thematic Group, and I also serve as an IUCN PANORAMA Ambassador. I am passionate about translating science into actionable policy recommendations, ensuring climate and conservation strategies are equitable, context-aware, and maximising positive impact. Effective altruist.
